The evening’s final award, Medical Science, went to a professor of Chemical Pathology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for her work developing a blood test to detect cancer in its early stages.

Rossa Chiu has given new hope to millions through her tireless work to combat cancer.

She also earlier developed a diagnostic test to improve DNA tests for Down syndrome screening across the world.
