<p>New York has long been an inspiration to entertainers. King of Cool and avant-garde singer-songwriter Lou Reed had a long-standing love affair with the place, and his biggest hit, Walk on the Wild Side, is set on its very streets.</p>

<p>Other musicians have been similarly captivated by the city that never sleeps. Piano man Billy Joel wrote the classic tune New York State of Mind in its honour, and legendary crooner Frank Sinatra possibly summed it up best with his bold, brassy version of New York, New York.</p>

<p>Following in this artistic tradition, our featured home this month is a modern, lofty perch situated above the Museum of Modern Art in one of New York’s most exclusive and stylish locales. The development at 53 West 53rd Street in downtown Manhattan is not yet completed, but it is on track to become one of New York’s ritziest residences. Once finished, the 1,050-foot-high tower will reshape the city’s skyline and become an attraction in its own right.</p>

<p>The tower – dubbed 53W53 – was designed by acclaimed French architect Jean Nouvel. His striking design for the building’s exterior, referred to in the architectural trade as a diagrid (a portmanteau of diagonal grids), is somewhat akin to an abstract sculpture – making it an appropriate home for the three floors of museum gallery space that can be found inside. The building’s intriguing and imposing look beckons the would-be homeowner to explore the world within.</p>

<p>Nouvel is a highly credentialed architect and designer, and is worthy of a project of such ambitious scope. A winner of the Pritzker Prize for Architecture, his diverse body of work is as impressive as it is varied. His past projects have included museums, concert halls, luxury residences and cultural commissions such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Fondation Cartier in Paris.</p>

<p>Interiors come courtesy of New York-based architect, designer and artist Thierry Despont. In the past, he has lent his talents to the Ritz in Paris, the Dorchester Hotel in London and Harry Winston’s flagship store in Beverly Hills.</p>

<p>Despont’s impeccable taste and attention to detail, apparent in all of his private dwelling projects, is on show here at 53W53 as well. His deft touch is to thank for the understated lighting fixtures and bespoke kitchens and bathrooms found within. Masterfully crafted mahogany doors with custom-designed bronze trim echo the tower’s distinctive outline.</p>

<p>The dwelling also boasts an amply windowed kitchen with cabinetry by Italian furniture maker Molteni, classic marble countertops with backlit backsplash and state-of-the-art appliances by Miele and Sub-Zero. The master bedroom ensuite incorporates Verona limestone slab floors and golden travertine feature walls, as well as a luxurious master bath that is spacious enough to stretch out in.</p>

State of Mind: Musicians have long sung the praises of the Big Apple. Here’s a home worthy of the hype


<p>A beautiful home has all the more character if it is situated in a picturesque neighbourhood. This elaborately stylish 800-square-foot apartment in Oliwa, a historic suburb of Gdańsk in Poland, certainly embodies the spirit of its surrounding landscape. Remodelled in striking combinations of dark teal green, grey stone and warm wood by design firm Raca Architekci, it involved a year of planning and renovation. Michal Raca, the main designer and founder of the firm, worked closely with his client to materialize her vision of a nature-inspired home. </p>

<p>A sense of grandeur is immediate as you enter the flat. The absence of an entrance hall increases the interior space and imparts volume, imbuing comfort from the moment you step through the door. A tall elliptical mirror framed in gold brass is strategically placed so you can check your appearance before leaving or entering, while a black veneer bench with an upholstered seat is a convenient spot for slipping shoes on or off. To provide maximum storage in such a small space, the designer has incorporated cupboards that blend with the walls, this minimalist approach gives a clean feel. </p>

<p>A polished terrazzo floor serves as a prelude to the wooden flooring within. A brass wall lamp is placed as a stylish ornament, its adjustable lighting setting the mood of the space. The designer has deliberately used mirrors of different shapes and sizes to make the apartment look more spacious. Large black and gold pots with large plants can be found in different corners of the house, flaunting the green thumb of the owner and her love for nature. </p>

<p>The open kitchen is the heart of the apartment, linking the living and dining areas. Not the keenest of cooks, the homeowner initially envisaged a small, compact kitchen, but one of the layouts proposed by studio founder Michal Raca offered a larger layout with a kitchen island. Selecting this option has proved a joy; it has become her favorite space, allowing her to host friends and discover delightful new recipes. </p>

<p>The island has a bold countertop of bardiglio marble from Spain, which is paired with other expanses of grey to emphasize the beauty of the stone. Its complementary brass accessories look like jewels adjoining the teal green dining area.  A round gold-rimmed mirror serves as a backdrop to the dining table balancing the dark tones of teal allowing more natural light to be reflected from the walls. Two beautiful round pendant lights hang above the kitchen island while a similar horizontal pendant light illuminates the dining space. </p>

<p>The upholstery is set to be the same shade as the walls, whether for curtains, the bed’s velvet headboard or the fabric of armchairs. A wall of windows spanning the living and dining areas offers panoramic views of the Baltic port city’s old town, where rows of red roofs reach out to the horizon. The apertures allow abundant light to fill the whole space and are embellished with heavy velour dark green curtains in a décor reminiscent of an opera house. The velour finish of the walls reduces dazzling reflections as the sunlight streams in.</p>

<p>A cosy space for unwinding, the master bedroom is dressed in two contrasting materials, plush velour panels above the veneer. Behind the bed, an upholstered headrest built into the lower part of the wall adds optimum comfort. The different textured panels are separated by a strip of bardiglio marble underlined in black, echoing the theme of the living quarters. The eye-catching originality of this design is enhanced by beautiful golden lamps that provide subtle contrast. </p>

<p>Following Raca’s extensive renovations, the bedroom and en-suite bathroom have become one coherent space, framed by large sloping windows at one end. The master suite’s aesthetic value has been further elevated by the addition of a glass wall partition for easy access between the two areas. It is a functional solution that not only allows natural light to flow into the bathroom – unusual in apartment blocks these days – but also gives the appearance of a more spacious bedroom. For the sake of privacy, a curtain can be drawn across the divide and bestows the ambience of a luxury spa. </p>

Teal Appeal: Rich notes of blue-green and grey refresh a stylish home in Poland where music fills one room


<p>Tucked away in the rolling Russian countryside lies a spectacular home that embodies classic refinement and contemporary finesse. Extending slightly over 2,000 square feet, this beautiful abode is situated in the picturesque village of Zhukovka, just outside Moscow. It is a testament to the nation’s rich cultural heritage and its owners’ fondness for grandeur.</p>

<p>The architects at Moscow design studio Archpoint achieved this feat through a thoughtfully conceived layout by incorporating calming colours; expensive natural materials like marble, stone and wood; sophisticated furniture from renowned brands including IPE Cavalli and Fendi; and elegant chandeliers.</p>

<p>Its imposing façade is adorned with intricate carvings and ornate details that seem to dance across the exterior walls. Inside, a spacious foyer extends into a sweeping staircase of black and white Dalmatian marble leading to the upper floor. The two storeys are separated by distinct themes. On the ground floor, the designers use dark, soothing hues to contrast with a dramatic white and grey backdrop for the fireplace, where Lithos Design light stone panels form a striking three-dimensional effect. The upper floor is dominated by two palatial bedrooms distinguished by vivid colour tones.</p>

<p>The heart of the home is the extensive open-plan living room, with its soaring, well-illuminated ceiling and windows that frame the garden and let in plenty of natural light. <p>In the centre of the room, a large plush velvet sofa sits under a shower of crystal glass dangling from the chandelier. It faces the majestic stone fireplace which has been carved into the marble feature wall. This is the perfect spot for cosying up on a round chaise longue in front of the fire during chilly winter evenings. In an unconventional but elegant style, the television is suspended on a separate stand rather than positioned on the feature wall, making it easier to move the angle of the screen when hosting large gatherings.</p>

A large centre island, also crafted in marble, acts as a dining table and is set with four chairs. The colours here are brighter, with mustard-yellow cabinets and grey walls. A round crystal chandelier hovers above the dining area, echoing its sister in the living room.</p>

<p>The upstairs bedrooms are lavish, serene retreats with gorgeous bedding and soft lighting. Here, too, chandeliers contribute to the warm luxury of the décor. The master suite has an oceanic theme, contrasting the turquoise and deep blue of the upholstery, panelling and drapes with the golden ‘liquid-metal’ coating that etches the walls and furniture. The chamber’s polygonal shape makes it a multipurpose space with a TV wall, sofa and armchair. The en-suite bathroom has a deluxe soaking tub and separate shower, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The other bedroom exudes an earthier theme, combining beige enamel and a rich palette of American walnut. It is an unusually long room, separated by a TV wall facing the bed, with a walk-in closet and desk beyond. Both bedrooms are adjoined by bathrooms decorated in accordance with the colour scheme – light and dark. Mirrors from IPE Cavalli have graceful frames, and the designers have provided several options for lighting – from pendant globes to spotlighting under the sink and bathtub.</p>

<p>The furniture in both rooms was chosen to match the interior colours, with walls and headboards highlighted as accents. In the turquoise room, the feature wall behind the bed is framed by natural Lithos marble with an eye-catching illuminated pattern; in the brown bedroom, the wall plastering is accentuated by an undulating relief carving. Special attention has been paid to the wardrobes, which are also dressed in the colours introduced in the bedrooms. There are functional cabinets made by local craftspeople, as well as chests of drawers and an IPE Cavalli dressing table.</p>

Grounded in Grandeur: Traditional motifs and modern comforts cohabit in a Russian home of rich colour and countless chandeliers


<p>Heralding change and a joyful celebration of life, the spring season has inspired countless poets and artists through the centuries. Taking inspiration from its ephemeral beauty, award-winning Taipei-based interior design firm L’atelier Fantasia imagines a 3,000-square-foot duplex residence as ‘The first drizzle of spring’. Idan Chiang, the studio’s founder, emphasises the relationship between people and their surroundings in this enchanting sanctuary created for a couple and their two children. </p>

<p>The residential layout is a thoughtful choreography of privacy and interaction, with rooms positioned at the four corners of the home for the best views of the outdoors. This arrangement fosters familial intimacy while respecting individual solitude in a space where luxury, elegance and playfulness intersect. The design choices are not merely aesthetic; they are instrumental in creating a living environment that is as responsive to the family’s dynamics as it is to the changing seasons.</p>

<p>Upon entering, you are greeted by a spacious living room with a neutral colour palette of soft grey walls, cream-coloured trim and plush velour floors. The space is illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows, framed by whisper-thin silk curtains and affording breathtaking views of the Taipei skyline. Exuding opulence and refinement, the room envelopes occupants in a sense of warmth and comfort, surrounded by plush furnishings and rich textures.</p>

<p>The lounge ceiling is accentuated at various points and the lighting is kept minimal, giving an elegant finish to the space. A large sectional sofa and two designer armchairs face the TV wall, complemented by circular coffee tables. The walls are adorned with a selection of artworks, including a stunning piece of traditional Taiwanese calligraphy, a modern abstract painting and compelling prints by local photographers. A grand piano sits at one end of the room, reflecting the owners’ taste in music as well as art. </p>

<p>Adjacent to the living room, the kitchen is a symphony of clean lines, minimal ornamentation and top-of-the-line appliances. Crisp white cabinets, gleaming stainless-steel surfaces, and a spacious island with a built-in sink create a functional and stylish space perfect for culinary creativity. Two skylights brighten the room and green velvet dining chairs at the counter stand out amid a wash of white, bringing warmth to this space for enjoying casual family meals. </p>

<p>A huge lazy Susan table occupies this end of the lounge, forming a dining area for hosting guests and larger gatherings. Intricate blue-crystal pendants from the chandelier above match the blue dining chairs. Every detail, from the carefully chosen materials to the meticulously curated art, contributes to a harmonious balance of style, comfort and functionality. This area’s focal point is a breathtaking floor-to-ceiling window, offering a panoramic vista of the city skyline and flooding the space with natural light.</p>

<p>Upstairs is a second, cosy living room for family reunions and children’s play dates. The space is a canvas of vibrant early spring colours, woven with warmth and finesse. A tea-rose-pink faux-fur sofa on a large, round grey area rug makes the room all the more alluring. </p>

The dedication to aesthetic harmony extends to these private quarters: the classical master bathroom with its interlaced floor tiling and custom-made Normandy shutters exudes the luxury of a boutique hotel. </p>

Spring Awakening: An expansive Taipei home envelops a family in the warmth and playful elegance of the season 


<p>High population density, limited landmass, a superfluity of the mega-affluent – you don’t need to be too much of a genius to understand why Hong Kong real estate commands such a seemingly unreal valuation. Even with property prices tipped to rise by an additional 10 percent this year, buyers remain wholly undeterred, with the residential purchasing cycle seemingly set only to accelerate.</p>

<p>Purchasing property and creating a home, of course, represent very different challenges. While the former requires a mastery of certain legal and financial necessities (or the tactical deployment of someone who does), the latter requires you to give a part of yourself, as you set about transforming a developer’s shell into something perfectly tailored to your family’s values and expectations.</p>

<p>It was just such a challenge that faced a young mainland family of four as they sought to reinvent the 2,300sq.ft space they had bought in Tsim Sha Tsui’s high-end Grand Austin development. While their newly-completed apartment came with all the expected fixtures and fittings, it was somewhat lacking in any of the individual touches and flourishes that would mark it out as a true family home. That’s when they decided to call on the services of a professional – a professional who so successfully re-fashioned their home that it was declared the Best Apartment in the 2017 Asia-Pacific Property Awards.</p>

<p>Seeking a theme that would provide a sense of unity across the whole space, the design team settled on the circle, seeing it as both a universal symbol of completeness and as an icon that’s synonymous with perfection for many mainlanders. With their base conceit in place, they then looked to incorporate it across the home in a series of knowing and simpatico variations – linked, multiple circles in the shared spaces, rounded cornering throughout and, where possible, the creation of curved enclaves. The circle motif was also embedded into the lighting installations, the carpeting and the occasional tables.</p>

<p>One of the first casualties of the circle-centred makeover was a long, straight corridor that led off from the dining area. Clearly out of keeping with the overall redoubtably round look, it was swiftly demolished, granting the kitchen area a curvaceous, open and welcoming appeal.</p>

<p>The bedrooms, too, were areas where Chinc’s set out to make its mark. Its most drastic move was to combine two of the rooms into an outsized master bedroom, one with abundant natural light, a commodious walk-in wardrobe and the last word in chic ensuite bathrooms.</p>

<p>The focus on optimising the level of natural light in the bedroom space is another hallmark of Chinc’s approach. Explaining this particular element of the company’s design philosophy, Leung said: “No apartment, no matter how beautifully decorated, can look its best if the lighting is not right. By removing unnecessary walls and introducing pocket sliding doors and glass partitions, we subsequently maximised the use of natural sunlight.</p>

<p>“We also employed asymmetric ceiling light housings to provide a diffused lighting effect overall in many of the rooms. We also opted to install down-lights in specific areas, all designed to create a dramatic look and feel as the night rolls in.”</p>

<p>While the tactical use of illumination has clearly boosted the home’s individuality, it is the sophisticated – yet playful – use of materials and upholstery that has gifted it the warmth the family was looking for. Whether it’s the wallpaper that morphs under various light sources, the individually-curated collection of custom ceramic tiles or the singularly-shaped selection of somewhat avant garde lounge chairs, an endearingly quirky and individualistic style prevails throughout the whole apartment.</p>

<p>Brutalist interior design is characterised by its untreated concrete, angular lines and stark aesthetic, and this house in Manila follows a similar expression of functionality while embracing a raw beauty. The built area of about 2,200 square feet sits on a 4,000-square-foot lot in Afpovai, an upcoming neighbourhood close to Bonifacio Global City.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Natural materials like wood, stone and plants are often incorporated within modern brutalist interiors to balance the coldness of concrete and metal, and this can be seen throughout the spacious residence. These textural contrasts add depth and visual interest, creating a warmer and cosier feel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Conceived as a sanctuary for a couple to enjoy after retirement, it was designed by Ivy Almario of Atelier Almario, an award-winning interior design firm known for its distinctive style. The designer’s philosophy is centred around creating spaces that resonate with her clients’ personalities and lifestyles. In this instance, their love of shutters features throughout the house, dividing the anteroom, bedroom and living room while maintaining a sense of intimacy and unity.</p>

<p>As you step into this airy retreat, you are immediately enveloped by an aura of calm, thanks to the clever use of natural ventilation and a soothing colour palette. The double-height ceiling and kamagong wood accents create a sense of drama, while the carefully curated collection of oriental artefacts adds a touch of sophistication.</p>

<p>Since the house is cocooned among other buildings, the clients requested that the designer employ efficient ventilation to remedy the otherwise stifling tropical heat. In the initial stages of the design process, it was thus decided that the first floor would be wrapped by a lanai (open-sided verandah). Their preference for louvre windows also upgraded the space. Landscape design was thoughtfully implemented with the plantation of citronella to control mosquitoes. Essentially, the home was designed to be a solution to the challenges of the site.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The most striking feature is the inclusion of plentiful plants, vines and even a tree inside the house, hinting that the owners have a green thumb. This blends nature with the indoors and makes the living spaces fresher and more inviting. Another distinctive element is the tall metal racks that serve as storage space rather than built-in cabinets or shelves.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Metal is used throughout the house whether in railings for the staircase and landing or the living-room furniture. Here, the L-shaped sofa matches the coffee table in its sleek metal-frame design. Both furniture and upholstery embody the residence’s dark-hued theme. A large, round mirror transforms the staircase wall into a feature wall and accentuates the scale of the room. </p>

<p>In terms of paint and colour, a skim coat is used on the outside concrete, while the inner walls are painted white and offset by a plethora of black. Timber tiles were used on the floor to soften the appearance of the large, vertical-slatted windows. The abundance of natural light alleviates the rugged textures, creating a sense of warmth and comfort.</p>

The use of luxe fabrics and neutral colours adds to the calming ambience; it is easy to imagine yourself relaxing in this peaceful haven. The walk-in closet has a dressing table and full-length mirrors opposite the wardrobes.&nbsp;</p>

Brutal Beauty: Stark modernism is softened by nature – including an indoor tree – in this tranquil Manila house 


<p>Renovating a large house comes with challenges but also exciting opportunities to allow creative transformation and maximise the potential of the space. This was the remit for the redesign of a Balinese villa compound by ZXC Studio, whose team crafted a plan to suit the needs of the homeowner, a filmmaker who lives with his girlfriend and four dogs.</p>

<p>The couple enjoys spending time at home, gardening, cooking and occasionally hosting friends for dinner. Their love of gardening is evident through landscaped courtyards and unique plants that can be viewed from inside the house. They also have a huge collection of books, vinyl, vintage film posters and art pieces that are displayed throughout the home, adding vibrancy to a clean, minimalist décor of neutral tones and natural materials.</p>

<p>The compound sprawls over 1,380 square metres, of which some 300 square metres comprise an existing built area that was renovated; a further 100 square metres were added to extend the interior space. The west-facing tiered landscape slopes over a stream and is surrounded by rice paddies and tall coconut trees, with Bali’s majestic central mountain, Batukaru, visible in the distance. </p>

<p>Opening up the built area to create bigger and airier spaces was the priority for the architecture and interior design practice led by UK-educated, Bali-based Zhi Xiong Chan. The original configuration of the villa complex felt cramped – too many rooms and a lack of access to natural light and ventilation. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living area and bedrooms now allow scenic views and abundant sunlight to sweep indoors. A series of distinct courtyard gardens, defined by the selection and composition of different tropical plants and trees, was inserted between the bungalows to accentuate the natural grandeur of the estate.</p>

<p>Having made the decision to retain the villa’s characteristic rectangular terracotta hip-tiled roofs, the designers then selected additional complementary building materials. Natural teak and Bangkirai hardwood joined the original timber framing the roofs, walls and windows. The wood-grained texture of the board-formed concrete which was applied to certain walls reflects the horizontal tiers of the site and connects internal and external spaces.</p>

<p>Large fixed furniture pieces stand out within the now more spacious and open rooms. They were chosen according to their function and ability to consolidate storage, and their light oak veneer creates a pleasing contrast with the darker wood tones in the house.</p>

<p>Overlooking the garden and the pool deck, the living room and the open kitchen are seemingly an extension of the outdoors, separated only by a glass wall. Distinguished by a difference in floor level, the dining area runs the length of the space and requires an entry of sorts, up steps from the living area. The vernacular architecture of the showpiece ceiling delivers a unique blend of modernity and tradition. On the back wall, behind the dining table, a large picture window is flanked by tall bookcases. The view here is a mass of greenery from the tall plants growing outside – and together these elements combine to form an interestingly composed feature wall.</p>

<p>A sculptural garden separates the two other bungalows, which are reached via a covered walkway that skirts around a central garden. Bonnet-shaped roofs with internal wooden planks make the indoor areas look even larger and brighter than their generous dimensions. Light diffusing from an indoor courtyard sets a vibe of calm and relaxation.</p>

<p>The guest suite comprises a spacious bedroom and bathroom – separated by a dividing wall that serves as the bed headboard – as well as a large study with space for lounging. In the master suite, which opens into a private garden, an immense bathroom matches the scale of the bedroom. Long, narrow recesses in the headboard and huge walk-in shower are illuminated, casting a warm, welcoming glow that is matched by the backlit bathroom mirror.</p>

<p>The abundance of open space, mountain view and stepped construction of the compound contribute to a sense of unity between the house and the surrounding landscape, which can be felt indoors and out. The inner courtyards also help to connect the exterior to the interior in this home where nature, man and animals live in harmony.</p>

Garden Paradise: Tropical greenery frames life in a traditional Bali villa redesigned to commune with nature


<p>A home that reflects the taste of its owners and serves as a functional environment for both living and working is a dream for many. It is realised within this apartment of soothing colours, natural surfaces and understated elegance at MeyerHouse, a prestigious new condominium complex in Singapore. The interiors are designed by Takenouchi Webb, a firm known for its deftness in manipulating materials to create textural spaces.</p>

<p>Many exquisitely designed elements become focal points, while utilitarian functions are elevated to celebrate domesticity and an uplifting working environment. Meeting individual and collective needs, the apartment belongs to a couple who work primarily from home and are passionate about their respective hobbies. The husband enjoys freediving, board games and making pizza; the wife music and cooking. The latter, in particular, was a determining factor for the functional aspects of the design, says British architect Marc Webb, who runs the Singapore-based design studio with his partner, interiors expert Naoko Takenouchi. </p>

<p>An expansive open-plan living and dining space is subtly segmented by carefully curated and customised furniture and furnishings. A super-comfy oversized sofa placed upon a large rug defines the sitting area, where a slab of Blue Roma marble serves as a bespoke coffee table with drawers to store board games. Nearby, two armchairs from House of Finn Juhl adjacent to a marble side table by Tacchini is the designated spot for playing Go. </p>

<p>Original finishes such as dark-laminated walls in the apartment’s private lift lobby and patterned parquet flooring are matched with lime-plaster surfaces, showcasing the handmade quality of the selected materials. This craft-led approach continues in a wall of timber beading and woven-straw wallpaper on the other side of the living room, which conceals doors to the master bedroom and wet kitchen. &nbsp;</p>

<p>An open kitchen next to the dining area is a true showstopper, boasting sleek lines and high gloss finishes; extending the kitchen into the living space was a key part of the couple’s brief to the designers. Their wish has materialised in a beautiful green onyx breakfast bar that also holds a sink and specialist baking oven to become a working kitchen counter. </p>

<p>The counter edge creates a sculptural element in the living room and features shelves for books and two wooden bar stools for extra seating. A custom-designed dining table, crafted from rich walnut wood, accommodates up to eight people. Above, a striking industrial-style pendant light adds a touch of glamour. Planters of tall greenery are placed around the table and the room to incorporate nature in the indoor space. </p>

<p>The apartment’s large balcony has been integrated into the living space, extending its impressive dimensions and housing an additional dining table for informal meals. Another bespoke element here that brings delight to daily tasks is a work station for the avid pizza chef, complete with a pizza oven, built-in refrigerator and storage drawers for the dough to rest. Vertical grooves on the light-toned wood cabinet provide a pleasing visual counterpoint to the horizontal slats of the Venetian blinds dressing the floor-to-ceiling windows.</p>

<p>A leitmotif of curves softens hard edges and gives purposeful embellishment to functional elements, such as an arch framing a sliding door that leads to a storeroom containing diving gear. Scalloped walls and a customised metal shelf in the main bedroom continue this language. Furniture and lighting fixtures from brands such as Time &amp; Style, Apparatus Studio, BassamFellows and Singapore vintage store Noden complete the home’s relaxed, eloquent character.&nbsp;</p>

Floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides allow abundant light to filter through white curtains. Two delicate hanging lamps and flower vases resting on low side tables flank the bed, adding to the natural warmth of the room. The bathroom is equally elegant, with a wooden vanity and splendid wooden bathtub following the natural theme of the interiors.</p>
