To celebrate the new Fairline Squadron 50, Fairline Yachts revisits the Riviera of the Orient
With a history that spans across five decades, British luxury yachtmaker Fairline Yachts has built a reputation for crafting some of the most reputable oceanic vessels. Now, the latest chapter of its illustrious history unfolds in the form of the new Fairline Squadron 50, available exclusively from Simpson Marine.
“Fairline is one of the most prestigious motor yacht brands in the world with a strong British heritage, highly reputed craftsmanship and magnificent interiors. Renowned for their understated elegance, contemporary designs, power, performance and comfort, which is precisely what our customers want from their yachts today.” says Richard Allen, Group General Manager at Simpson Marine.
To celebrate the launch of the new vessel, Fairline Yachts sought to revive the Riviera of the Orient – what is modern-day Repulse Bay – a coveted destination once patronised by such luminaries as Marlon Brando, Ernest Hemingway and Wallis Simpson. Following in their footsteps, the Fairline Squadron 50 made its way from Victoria Harbour to that selfsame inlet, all while affording its lucky guests with panoramic views under a clear blue sky.
Seeking to elevate the party with a wholly British flourish, Simpson Marine brought Fairline Yachts together with The Peninsula Hong Kong, with the latter serving the finest British afternoon tea atop the flybridge, surrounded by the Riviera of the Orient. The partnership also marks Simpson Marine as the hotel’s exclusive yachting partner.
The Fairline Squadron 50 more than lives up to the high standards set by its predecessors, as evidenced by its elegant stylings and five-star amenities. Fitted with the iconic Squadron flybridge – which is fitted with a wet bar and sunbed conversion – foredeck sunpads and Riviera-inspired interiors that take their cue from luxury destinations like St Tropez, Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
The innovative new 50ft model comes with a choice of twin Volvo IPS 600, 650 or 700 engine options, with the latter capable of generating top speeds of over 34 knots. If that weren’t enough, Simpson Marine is also offering customisation services for the Fairline Squadron 50 – with options ranging from the addition of a submersible bathing platform, a Sleipner bow thruster and Fusion entertainment system to the instalment of blue exterior mood lighting – all ensuring any potential buyers can truly live out their dream yachting experience.
