Growing old is only natural. Unlike some other beauty brands which promise to reverse the process of ageing, Milan-based beauty brand Frame Cosmetics believes in ‘restoring’. Embracing the Mediterranean way of life which acknowledges that ageing is a natural part of life, Frame’s products are all nutrient-rich, cutting-edge, and pure in both ingredients and intentions.

Eager to test both for ourselves, we recently tried out the R5 – Extreme Restorative Anti-ageing Satin Serum + D2 Thermal Vibration Face Massaging Device set from Frame Cosmetics (priced at HK$4,680). 

A comprehensive at-home beauty treatment, it comprises two parts – R5 and D2. While R5 is the anti-ageing serum containing hyaluronic acid and plant oils, D2 is the thermal vibration face massaging device with which to evenly spread and massage the serum onto your face and neck regions. The heat from the device opens up the pores while its vibrating motions allow the serum to be absorbed deep into the dermis. Just put the serum on the smooth surface of the device and gently rub on your skin for two minutes for maximum absorption of the serum. The ‘cool’ mode of the device then gets activated with the press of a button which we then massaged on our face and neck in circular motion again to lock the serum into the pores. One of the features that we liked best was how the capsule containing the R5 serum squirted the exact amount of serum needed for one-time use on the skin. 

The result? Softer, smoother, hydrated skin that lasted for more than 12 hours. On the flip side though, the two-part device + serum combo may leave ones who are less tech-savvy a bit confused with its very long ‘How to Use’ column, but it’s well worth decoding for the sake of plumper, softer and younger skin, isn’t it?
