Shoe Artistry keeps alive bespoke footwear tradition for a new generation
Paying homage to the city’s long heritage of shoemaking while breathing new life into the trade is Shoe Artistry, a bespoke footwear workshop set amid the backdrop of popular Hong Kong art and design hub, PMQ.
Deeply rooted in a passion for keeping local artisanal crafts alive, as well as empowering young designers and entrepreneurs, owners Jeff Wan and Kit Lee dropped their careers as creatives to establish Shoe Artistry in 2011. They inherited tools and manpower from one of the last long-standing traditional cobblers in the city, 40-year-old Ming Kee Shoes, before it closed.
Integrating 3D technologies&nbsp;with traditional processes of creating shoe lasts and customised insoles, the expert craftsmen here cater to a wide range of style choices, from classic, contemporary to avant-garde, and leather, colour and finish preferences, resulting in bespoke shoes that perfectly fit each discerning client.
