Capital Night Out: Gafencu hosts gala dinner at Beijing

Gafencu recently hosted “Time to Shine &#8211; The 3rd Grand Gafencu Ball” at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao. 
The star-studded Gafencu Gala Ball was attended by a number of specially invited guests from Macau’s most exclusive social circles, along with notable faces from Hong Kong.
The event was held in Macau to mark Gafencu’s efforts to broaden its horizons beyond mainland China and Hong Kong.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Gafencu Awards, which recognised the unique achievements of some of Macau’s outstanding professionals.
Gafencu has hosted similar awards in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong for six years, but this year was the first time a number of outstanding individuals in Macau were honoured.
The awards were presented to Heidi Chan for her charity work, Vivian Lou for her business endeavours and Raymond Vong for his work in hospitality.
Guests at the event were entertained by Hong Kong-Canadian singer Joyce Cheng and a number of exclusive items were sold during a live auction.

Last week, Gafencu, the flagship brand of Total Media, hosted its Gala Ball at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao. The event was attended by a number of distinguished guests and famous faces from Macau and Hong Kong.
“Time to Shine &#8211; The 3rd Gafencu Ball” was an exclusive, invitation-only event and the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Gafencu Awards, which recognised the unique achievements of some of Macau’s outstanding professionals.

Heidi Chan &#8211; Charity
Heidi Chan won an award in the Charity category for her diverse and far-reaching charitable endeavours. Heidi has a long association with Yan Oi Tong and is the Vice Chairperson of its current Board of Directors. She is also the President of the Kwang Wai Charity Association. Moreover, she holds esteemed managerial positions in several non-profit organisations including the Macau Fok Kin Overseas Friendship Association, the Macau Chengdu Overseas Friendship Association, the Macao Kam Cheang Youth Association, the Cross Strait Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Macau, the United World Chinese Association and many more. 
Raymond Vong &#8211; Hospitality
Raymond Vong walked away with the Hospitality award for striving to put his restaurants, Henri’s Galley Maxim’s and Bravo Palace, firmly on the culinary map of Macau. He is also the President of the General Assembly of the Macau Culinary Association, Master of Food of Wine Society Macau and the Officier Maitre Rotisseur of Chaine des Rotisseurs Macau.
Vivian Lou &#8211; Legacy
Vivian Lou won the Legacy award for her work as the Director of Zoneland Group Macau Limited, the Deputy Chairman of Chongshan Zoneland Real Estate Development Co. Limited and the President of Yihe Grand Hotel Limited. Vivian also established the Macy Aesthetic Medical Center in Macau and the Single Medical Aesthetics Clinic in Shanghai. She has made significant contributions to the real estate, hotel service and medical aesthetic industries in Macau, Zhongshan and Shanghai.

Gafencu to bring glamour and glitz to Macau in May

The inaugural Asia Awards of Excellence was held at Macau Tower recently. The star-studded event honoured outstanding achievements in the luxury hospitality sector. 
The big winners from Hong Kong were Lanson Place Hotel, which won Asia&#8217;s Most Excellent Small Luxury Hotel and Grand Hyatt, which won Asia&#8217;s Most Excellent Hotel Renovation.
The Upper House bagged the award for Asia&#8217;s Most Excellent Boutique Hotel.
Awards were presented to nominees in several categories, including Asia&#8217;s Most Excellent Beach Resort and Asia&#8217;s Most Excellent Business Hotel.
The winners were selected by a panel of judges featuring business tycoon Joseph Chen, CEO of UP Concierge Limited; fashion designer Narcisa Pheres, CEO of Italian fashion house Pheres; and celebrities Jocelyn Luko and Anthony Sandstorm.
The award show was attended by over 120 VVIPs from the fashion, hospitality, business and entertainment world.

The third annual amfAR Gala Hong Kong attracted a large number of celebrities who showed their commitment to help raise funds in the fight against AIDS.
The event raised over $3.5 million (HK$27 million) for amfAR’s life-saving AIDS research programmes.

The Gala was attended by a number of notable Hong Kong celebrities, but all eyes were on A-list stars Charlize Theron, Naomi Campbell, Jackie Chan, Charli XCX, Mark Ronson and K-Pop star CL.
Naomi Campbell opened the evening by welcoming guests and introducing amfAR Chairman of the Board Kenneth Cole. After Cole’s speech, he introduced Honorary Chair Charlize Theron, who stressed the challenges of HIV and urged focused efforts on “the communities that are most vulnerable, that are most in need of prevention, education and support.”
The event also featured a live auction, which included a number of extravagant prizes:
Jackie Chan auctioned an opportunity for one guest to appear in his upcoming film with Sylvester Stallone and to attend the movie’s premiere in Beijing. This sold for $300,000.
Charlize Theron offered an opportunity for two to attend the New York City premiere of The Fate of the Furious, along with tickets to the VIP after-party and a suite at The Peninsula New York, which sold two sets of tickets for a total of $200,000.
Moët &amp; Chandon offered, for the first time ever in Asia Pacific, their very own Moët &amp; Chandon vending machine, which holds 315 Moët &amp; Chandon mini bottles. The vending machine sold for $80,000. A seven-night stay for 12 people at Leonardo DiCaprio’s Palm Springs home sold for $100,000.
During the Gala, K-Pop superstar CL (Lee Chae-rin) took to the stage to perform her debut American singles.
Grammy-nominated British singer Charli XCX ended the evening with a set of her top hits and five-time Grammy Award-winning musician Mark Ronson kicked off the after-party with a DJ set.

Hollywood stars help to raise HK$27 million at amfAR Gala

It was a lavish night of celebration at the recent 25th wedding anniversary reception for Seema and Andy Mahtani, held in the Diamond Ballroom at the Ritz Carlton. Five hundred glamorous guests enjoyed a champagne and whisky bar, ‘caviar stations’, live entertainment and a top DJ who spun tracks into the early hours.

Hong Kong Jockey Club goes all out with gala dinner

The Italian Chamber of Commerce recently held its gala dinner at Hong Kong’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel, with all proceeds going to the Women Helping Women Hong Kong charity. The specially invited guests were all treated to a four-course Italian meal, expertly prepared by Pino Lavarra, the Tosca restaurant’s Michelin-starred chef.
