Prada’s blooming Baroque sunglasses

Prada likes to hark back to eras famous for their glamour and art when it releases new collections, and the Italian fashion house has gone back to the 17th and 18th centuries for its latest minimal Baroque sunglasses.

However, instead of using the European architecture or art the Baroque period is famous for, Prada has decided to use nature as an inspiration by designing its sunglasses with flower and foliage motifs found during the era.

Stylised plant life—acanthus leaves, laurel branches, palm fronds—has been turned into scrolling garlands that bud and branch into the curves of the sunglasses and the motifs are ingrained into the frames.

The sunglasses are available in five colours: black, tortoise, ivory, red and spotted tortoise.
