Single-malt Scotch whisky-maker, <a href="https://www.thesingleton.com/">The Singleton</a>, created a unique drinking and dining experience at The Residence at this year&#8217;s <a href="//www.gafencushop.com/taste-hong-kong-2019/">Taste of Hong Kong</a>. Propagating the art of slow craft, The Residence by The Singleton coaxes diners to embark on a leisurely journey through the premium single-malt&#8217;s 12-, 15-, 18- and a limited edition 14-year-old expressions discovering the full range of flavours along the way.
The experience is curated to allow patrons to appreciate the various nuances of its slow craft, as pioneered through The Singleton&#8217;s long fermentation periods and slow distillation methods.
As a premium single malt with fruity and spicy flavours, The Singleton is known to pair well with Asian cuisine. To celebrate this harmonious combination, the whisky producer invited internationally-known chefs Justin Quek, from Singapore, and Andrew Wong, from London, to showcase their culinary genius and prepare signature dishes that champion the value of slow cooking, and pairs perfectly with each expression of The Singleton.

The Singleton of Glen Ord Single Malt Scotch Whisky has unveiled a one-of-a-kind ‘Sensorium’ at <a href="//www.gafencushop.com/taste-of-hong-kong/">Taste of Hong Kong </a>happening from today till 25 March at Central Harbourfront.
Guests are welcome to step inside a giant purpose-built cask and take a seat at the tasting bar surrounded by a 360° video projection that help tells The Singleton Story through a series of props.
In a fifteen-minute tasting experience – accommodating eight guests at one sitting – guests will be virtually transported to the Scottish Highlands to explore The Singleton of Glend Ord’s rich history, unique production process and flavour profile. Led by the brand’s ambassador, be consumed by the sights, sounds, smells, and of course, taste of The Singleton’s 12, 15 and 18-year-old expressions.
Entry to ‘The Singleton of Glen Ord Sensorium’, inclusive of a 12, 15 and 18- year-old flight tasting, costs HK$100 (in addition to a Taste festival entry ticket) and is fully redeemable against an on-site purchase of your favourite sensorium expression. The Singleton of Glen Ord Forgotten Drop Series can easily be dubbed as the godfather of whiskies. Aged for 41 years, priced at around HK$22,000, limited to less than 50 bottles for Hong Kong, this whisky is by far more exclusive than the so-called ‘exclusive’ whiskies around.
Well, so what makes it so special? To start with, this whisky has been handcrafted by one of the industry’s most experienced Master of Malts, Maureen Robinson. She explains, “With The Singleton Forgotten Drop Series we set out to find more than just very old whiskies, we wanted to find exceptional whiskies with unique cask maturation. The influence of the refill American oak makes The Singleton of Glen Ord 41 Year Old so precious, as it’s so unusual for this distillery to have a whisky of this age in this type of wood.”
