Keep Christmas board-om at bay with handcrafted gifts

Trying to find the perfect gift for the man in your life can be about as much fun as pulling teeth. Simple requests about what he’d like for Christmas are generally met with a nonchalant shrug and a change of subject. This leaves you with the unenviable task of aimlessly wandering round the shops trying to find something you think he’d like.

Thankfully, Berluti has released two items just in time for Christmas that will appeal to most men — over a certain age.

Berluti’s backgammon set and cigar box were handcrafted in the house’s workshops in France and Italy.

Backgammon is one of the oldest board games in the world, and the set is crafted from hand-cut pieces of Venezia leather and marries colour schemes with contemporary lines and finishes.

The set includes 2×15 chequers, two baffle boxes and two pairs of dice, as well as a protective felt pouch and two keys.

The cigar box was handmade in Paris and combines rare wood with Berluti’s signature leather and patinas. It features two compartments with removable tops and sliders, crafted in a choice of unvarnished Indian rosewood, Macassar ebony and lemon tree wood.
